What does it truly take to foster an inclusive and equitable tech industry? On September 7th, we delved into this critical question during our Women in Tech: Brunch & Learn event, in partnership with Wise, featuring esteemed panelists such as Fanni Fejes, Peter Szel, Szilvi Koleszár and Christine Robinson. Some key takeaways were leading by example: our panelists emphasized the importance of management creating a respectful environment that includes both women and men in meaningful conversations. Mentorship matters: hearing about the pivotal role that good mentors have played in our panelists' journeys was inspiring. They also opened up about the challenges of navigating workplaces where their achievements were overlooked. Work-life balance: maternity and paternity leave came up as a complex issue. While juggling a career and parenthood is never easy, our panelists shared that it's doable with the right financial planning and made easier by remote work policies. Beyond gender: diversity isn't just a gender issue. It's about race, identity, and more. Our panelists stressed that these factors alone should never limit anyone's career progress. A massive shoutout to our incredible moderator Sheena Lydon for steering this meaningful conversation, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated.
