We were excited to host Zvonimir Sabljić, the CEO and co-founder of Pythagora (YC W24), a development tool that builds web apps from scratch by talking to you using a collection of AI agents. Before starting Pythagora, Zvone founded AWW (A Web Whiteboard), which grew to serve 1.5 million monthly active users before being acquired by Miro in 2021.
Zvonimir was interviewed by their seed investor, 500 Emerging Europe’s General Partner Enis Hulli. 500EE is a €70M fund investing in pre-seed/seed founders from the Baltics, Eastern Europe & Turkey. 500's mission is to back exceptionally talented entrepreneurs in the region early on in their journey and help them scale globally.
The problem Pythagora is solving is that despite advances in AI, there's still a critical gap in the market: large language models excel at coding tasks but fall short in fully developing applications, lacking the iterative and multifaceted capabilities of human developers.
Their solution redefines app development by systematically managing the entire development process, from initial requirement gathering to final code refinement, ensuring comprehensive, accurate, and user-aligned software creation. Pythagora is built on top of an open-source tool GPT-Pilot that has over 28,000 Github stars.
Zvonimir also shared insights from his experience at Y Combinator, discussing what it’s like to build a global company emerging from CEE. He shared details of pivots and strategic decisions that shaped his companies, providing valuable lessons on navigating the startup landscape and leveraging past experiences.
